In 2017 NauticEd was officially recognized as a National Sailing Education body by the US Coast Guard under the American National Standards for sailing training EDU-3. This is something that no other sailing training body in the USA Sailing has been able to achieve.
Thus we are our own recognized official certifying body.

Although we issue sailing certifications and licenses recognized by yacht charter companies and port authorities worldwide, our first focus is one of competence. Once competence has been achieved by demonstration of on-the-water skills as well as theory knowledge and documenting of sufficient practical experience, only then a certificate with verified practical competence and knowledge is issued - but not before. This is why the NauticEd SLC International sailing license is so respected in the yacht charter community.
