This is the 2022 process which is a change from previous where a lot of improvements were made to the system.

People in the database start off as Prospects. As you start to work with a student for on-the-water training you now have to “CONVERT” the person from a prospect to a student.

INSTRUCTORS

  • Here is the Pro Site page that discusses all your qualifying procedures. You might visit as a refresher every now and then https://pro.nauticed.org/resources/documents/#instructor-qualifying-documents
  • Here is the site that shows a flow chart on how to manage your students: https://pro.nauticed.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/ProspectStudentFlowDiagram.pdf
  • In your dashboard, you will have a list of Students and a list of Students+Prospects (All).
  • Find your person and to the right, you will click Convert to Student
    • For instructors that work for schools, this will send a note to your school to convert them. The school will pay the Technology Conversion fee.
    • For Private instructors, you will be asked to pay the Technology Conversion fee at that time.
  • Once your school converts the person to a student, the student will show in your "student" dashboard list.
  • Next to the student in the table, you will see the Grade button - you can then proceed to grade the student's practical competency.
  • Note that you should do this prior to using the Assessment App. In this manner, you can approve the student on the dock at the end of the training. That is a huge smiley face for students to get instant approval - rather than waiting til you 'figure out" how to do all this - that is a big sad face.

SCHOOLS

You can convert a person to a student yourself or you can approve an Instructor's request to convert.

You pay the technology conversion fee

The student will then appear in the Instructor's list of students and then subsequently grade the student's practical competency.

BOTH

Please ensure that you watch the screenshot videos on how to do the conversion and manage your students and prospects.

For Instructors, see the link on the right side "How to properly engage as an instructor". Follow that to the Pro blog site and find the School Instructor Software training video.  Here is a video from the resources page on the Pro site that shows how to manage your dashboard: https://youtu.be/tL3q7okYZNo?t=347
