The IPC stands for the International Proficiency Certificate. The IPC is NOT the ICC. The IPC is not recognized by the United Nations.
In contrast, the ICC is the International Certificate of Competency created by the United Nations. The ICC is an official international Sailing license. The NauticEd SLC is an equally acceptable official international Sailing License. Both the ICC and SLC focus on the knowledge, skills and competence needed for global sailing.
If you want an international sailing license, we recommend either the ICC or the NauticEd SLC. For North Americans, the SLC is more readily available than the ICC because there are more available instructors to perform the assessment.
